My name is Meg Fox. For a lifetime the raging silence of childhood secrets annihilated my sense of self. The following pages document a sixteen month journey into a therapeutic realm of myth, fairy tales and the arts. This collection — entitled Of Nettles and Deliverance — is a chronicled account of my personal story and how the fairy tales I clung to as a child merged with my visual, literary and performing art enabling me to uncover the truth and, finally, to acknowledge it. This site is dedicated to all who have known the furtive shadows of an abusive childhood environment and to the healing magic of our creative spirits. I tell my story, because I believe by coming together to support one another, and by sharing our own tales we set ourselves free from the secrets, shame and confusion that masquerade as our sense of self. It is my hope that others who have suffered the terrors of childhood abuse might find something within these pages that helps. If something here triggers strong emotions, go slowly, stop if needed, and most of all be gentle with yourself.

A review—by the Endicott Studio of Mythic Arts— of the material in this web site can be found HERE on the Endicott Redux Today, much of my artwork is inspired by and dedicated to the amazing people who have and continue to share their stories with me. These works and my thoughts can be viewed on my blog: Healing Through Visual, Literary and Performance Arts.

There is tremendous strength and bravery behind a child’s ability to simply endure. The little girl I was deserves all the love and praise I can give her. She was never a “bad” child. She endured, imagined, and survived. SHE IS MY HEROINE.
